What is your stake about the possible delisting of MPI?
Hi, MPI is still among the top listed stocks in the PSEI. There is no clear deal yet about its privatization.
Hi, tp of MPI hit. Isn’t it. Waiting for next stock. Regards
Hi Ms. Fehl,
How do we liquidate or withdraw the capital + gain in our portfolio for example after 10 years?
Thank you,
Shayne
Hi Ms Fehl. MBTs at 59, TP is at 58. Should we sell now?
Bakit po napalitan TP ni AREIT?
We always make adjustments based on performance, fundamentals, economy, market, and potential
Hi Ms. Fehl,
Just wanna genuinely ask, kamusta po kayo? 🙂
I hope you are happy, healthy, and still thriving.
Thank you for playing a big role in my investing journey, thank you for sharing your knowledge to us without asking anything in return. In behalf of all your readers here at Dailypik, salamat po. God bless! ❤️
Hi Mary Jane, thanks so much for asking. Yes, I’m good, healthy, happy, and always thriving 🙂 I appreciate your message so much and I’m glad to be in this investing journey with you all. More blessings to you and your family. Keep safe always <3
Hello Maam Fel,
Just want to know your thoughts regarding the Monde Nissin IPO?
Hi Fehl, I just want to ask for your insight about CEB. I’ve had it for 4years now and it never, not even once ever gave me any gains. I’ve been seeing red ever since up until now. What’s the best thing to do with it?
We highly recommended that fantastic 5 articles, it’s just awesome. To continue gaining profit we need to follow mentioned advice. They have so many years experiences. It’s better to consult about investment of kind of trade stock business.
Here the another best mentioned site to stock alerts and learn how to invest in trade stock business line. We hope that you’ll be benefited, see you in trade stock alerts
Hi Fehl,
I’ve recently gone back again to investing and I’ve been reading your posts for the past several weeks. Seems like your top five hasn’t changed and the suggested BBPrices hasn’t moved at all even as the stock prices are going down. Are both the stock picks and prices still good today especially as we look into a week of ECQ? Thank you.
Hi Eric, the stock picks here are good for long term. It will take a while before they reach their target price because of pro-long cause of pandemic and the return of ECQ. However, we see it as good opportunity to buy the dip and correction. The world needs more time to recover, likewise the market. Stay safe and healthy 🙂
Hi! I recently started investing because stock prices dropped this pandemic. I currently have shares in BDO, BPI, JFC, ALI and SMPH. Their prices are continuously rising but I want to buy more of their stocks. Is it okay if I buy more even if I acquired my current stocks in much lower prices? If so, how long do you recommend I hold all of my investments? What other companies would you say I add in my portfolio? Thank you so much.
Hi Ms Fehl,
Any particular reason bakit bumaba?
Thank you po ulet.
Hi Madam,
Salamat!!
Hi Wendell, salamat sa mensahe 🙂 Market condition and stock valuation change over time. Because of that, we adjust the target and buy-below price. Most of the performance of companies decline this year due to the pandemic. We expect a significant rebound by 2021. To avoid losses, hold your shares. What you see right now is unrealized loss. Only you can make them “real” if you sell or close your trades. Keep safe and God bless 🙂
Hi maam fehl 🙂 what do you think about DITO ? Is it a good time to buy shares now?
Still a no for me
Hi Ms. Fehl,
What do you think about the 3rd Telco DITO?
Thank you.
Hi 🙂 Not buying, I’m more interested about Ant’s IPO on HK stock exchange
Pwede ko po malaman bakit naka HOLD or STOP BUYING sa FLI? reasons? ano maganda gawin if my current shares na nabili before pa mgstart pandemic?
Naabot nya na ang Buy Below Price so stop buying na and wait for the Target Price.
I bought ABSP and now the license is not renewed, what happens to my stock ownership?
Hi, Queenie. Sad to hear you have ABS shares. The company is suspended in the PSE. The PSE also requires ABS CBN to submit a full disclosure on the impact of non-renewal of its franchise, financial status, and business plans for the future. Investors and shareholders of ABS are waiting for that compliance so they can trade or sell their shares in the PSE again.
Hi Ms. Fehl, how about gtcap? Is it ok to keep both gtcap and mbt as my stocks?
hello po, question po what are your thoughts with EW (eastwest) po malaki po kaya potential nila makabawi? ty po
Hi Ms. Fehl,
Just started investing and followed B5 and F5 table. Just would like to ask, if the rates (Buy below price, TP and CP) on this page are getting updated on regular basis??
Again thank you for sharing your knowledge to everyone and helping us to reach our financial goal.
What is your advice for buying DITO?
Ms. Fehl,
What do you think is the prospect for CEB? Is it a good time to buy and hold?
Yes, if you’re willing to wait for a some months. Otherwise, scalp it if you’re an experienced active trader. God bless!
Hello, good day po, this is Leo and I have been following your site since 2018, I was able to start investing with BDO nomura platform and now I am looking to get back to stock investing. Gusto ko lang po itanong regarding dun sa Fanatstic 5 kung halimbawa po na reach na natin yung TP, at our own cost, is it advisable na isesell na yung stocks, then set another TP? I would love to hear answers po sa kung sino mang nakakalam na ng sagot. I would highly appreciate it. Salamat and God Bless. Keep safe. Happy investing 🙂
Hi, Biboi 🙂 Yes, for the F5 stocks, that’s the concept of the strategy, you sell your shares when you they hit the Target Price already. Then re-invest the money for other worthy stocks. Cheers!
I’m trying to follow your F5 and B5 Ms. Fehl. I only allot 8k per month to buy just 1 stock. Is it really the way it should be? Nahihirapan po kasi ako magdecide which stock should I buy first, should I buy F5 or B5 muna. Hope maenlighten niyo po ako and I would appreciate anyone who can give his cents as well. Thanks!
hi, Fhel!
thank you for this.
I stumbled upon your website recently.
some of your stocks, mayroon din ako.
i only have 3 stocks to hold for long term. AC, SM and JFC. And, I am eyeing ICT and GTCAP.
i usually do buy and sell, so far okay naman sya, i am enjoying it.
Happy trading everyone!
Congrats with your stocks. I’m sure they will grow more in the years to come. Continue buying when the market is down. Cheers!
Hi Fehl! Noticed that FGEN is taken out of the list and there is also a tender offer recently, what are your thoughts on the tender offer?
Hi Fehl, do you manage funds like traditional brokers? Is 3% intraday return possible in our current market setting? How likely you can exit if you sell millions worth of stock in just a single sell action (Philippine settings)?
Good day Fehl, I want to build a long term ( 10 year + ) investment porfolio with 40% pag-ibig MP2 , 40% dividend yielding stocks, 20% ETF. With this in mind , Is a 10% per annum yield attainable? Would appreciate your suggestion. Thanks.
Hi Madam,
Just a question involving the current situation in the ph market. My current strategy in the market right now is long term investing. But since solving the covid crisis is still uncertain, the more riskier it gets for the businesses and this scares investors. How confident are you that the current prices right now will recover in the future assuming that the the pandemic still continues throughout the year? Thank you in advance! 🙂
Hi Karl 🙂 The pandemic is a big wake up call to investors to choose wisely where to put their money and to invest only in stable companies. As a long term investors, I’m always with the market (not against the market) so I’m always confident my money will grow in 5 years or more. Prices may not recover this year but there will surely be recovery in the future. Smart long term investors cannot miss opportunities like this to buy more.
Assuming low prices of stocks continue throughout the year, not a problem to long term investors because they don’t get scared when prices fall. They actually like it coz they buy more. It worries short term investors who want to cut losses. But good traders know what to do. They do hedging, invest in ETF, treasury bonds, gold or any asset that they find profitable. Cheers!
Thank you so much! 🙂 I do purchase my stocks on a monthly basis but had doubts when the price broke support. Will stick to my long term strategy now that you’ve shared your thoughts. Thanks again!
Hi Ms. Fehl 🙂 First of all, and I’ve been meaning to say this for a long time, I really admire your strategy and courage in investing/trading in the stock market – be it in Philippine stocks and international stocks.
Second, I have a question, which prompted me to leave you a message here and I hope you can respond 🙂
I’ve been investing in the Philippine stock market for 2 years and I’ve finally decided to buy international stocks this march 2020. I’ve been researching and earning money for it since last year (mostly because I was stumbled into your blogs and got inspired on buying from etoro). I’ve copied you in etoro by the way. I have earned another lump sum from my wages and I wanted to invest it again to buy stocks.
Is it better if I put my hard-earned money in Etoro for now instead of buying Philippine stocks? I’ve noticed that the Philippine stock market is not doing good lately. At first I’ve seen some companies going up after the march slump, but now it’s like they’re not moving. Thank you Ms. Fehl!
Hi, Nicole 🙂 Thank you for your kind message. You’re doing great for investing both PH stocks and foreign stocks. And of course, copying me on eToro 🙂 It’s always better to have both investment. You can invest 30% to PH stocks and 70% to eToro. The reason why our stocks on eToro move up faster is because I always select companies that have high trade volume and I choose prominent brands from the UK, USA, Switzerland, Germany, and France.
Investing in PH stocks still have potential and I love our country so I maintain my holdings with the giants here. Going long for it 🙂 However, trade volume here is lower compared to the global brands I maintain on eToro. There is less than 1% of Filipinos invest in the stock market. You and I are part of it 🙂
Hello Maam Fehl, may tanong lang ako nkabili kasi ako ng MBT which is 10 board lot ngayon po nagiging 100 n. paano po yan loss na po ako. ano po gawin jan maam ? Salamat po sa sagot.
Hi 🙂 Wait for it to recover. It may take a while because of the pandemic. Best regards 🙂
Hi Miss Fehl, ano po ibig sabihin invest regularly for long term sa stocks yun ba yung EIP sa COLna magset ng amount? Or pipili ng stocks using trade at walang binta binta buy lang ng buy…
May i know why AC is not included on your Big 5?
Hi Ms Fehl! Would like to thank you for sharing all this information and helping the general public be financially literate. God bless and more power!
I hope this makes sense. I’ve lost 45% na with my AC stock. This is for long-term sana. Should I sell it na and then buy back in, same stocks pa din?
Hi 🙂 If you sell now, you will incur real losses. Since you mentioned long term, stick to it as long as you can. Just buy using new funds to to make up for the unrealized losses while there is Covid19.
Hi, would you recommend buying at least the min. boardlots of all these magic 10 stocks ALL AT ONCE in the midst of the pandemic? i’m a beginner investor and i’m trying to figure out if it’s better to buy min. stocks from these 10 at the same time or buy more than the minimum boardlot of say, 5 companies first?
Really appreciate this site – learned so much in such a short amount of time!!
Thank you
Hi 🙂 Yes, but with the blue chips only. Buying during recession and market crash will reward you in the future when the market recovers. It is important you choose only those companies with potential and well established.
Miss Fehl, should I hold on to my stocks during these Corona times? I have magic 10 stocks.
Hi 🙂 Only you know how much risk you can tolerate 🙂 Also those are unrealized losses, if you close them, you already lost. The question is, can you still hold on?
Alright, thanks for the advise. I’ve decided to hold on and wait until everything normalizes. Laban!
You should not worry if the companies you are investing for long term are valuable, well established, and with good balance sheet. This market cycle will pass and normal days will happen again 🙂
Hi mam, yung meaning po ba ng board lot is the minimum number of shares you can buy on a particular company? Like board lot 10, 100, 1000?
Yes, because the PSE uses a minimum Board Lot or round lot system that specifies the minimum amount of shares one can buy or sell. The minimum amount of shares will depend on the market price of the stock. Example, if the price of stock you want to buy is P188, the minimum boardlot is 10. You can then buy shares in 10, 20, 30 and so on as long as it’s divisible by 10.
Hello, Are these stocks healthy for long term investments? MWC, DMC, RLC, BLOOM, GMA,
Mostly short term in my opinion 🙂
How long these fantastic 5 may possibly reach their peak?
Good am po maam, Ano po sa tingin nyo sa CHP? kasi po malaki na yung lost ko 9 pesos down to 1 peso nalang, makakabawi pa ba ang CHP?
Hi 🙂 All global markets are down right now. It might get better or worse. Nobody knows but only you know your risk tolerance 🙂 Always follow it
Hi Mam, would you recommend SMC? Because its not in your TOP 10. Tnx
Speaking of board lots, I was trying to buy shares of Metrobank, only to find out they changed their board lot size from 10 to 100. I thought BDO Nomura was just having glitches.
Boardlots change because of the prices.
Hi Ms. Fehl, earlier, my AC stock was on 25% profit. But after Pres. Duterte’s tirades on Ayala and MP groups after the discovery of some onerous provisions in the water concession contract, it’s now 5% loss. My other heavily affected stocks are ALI (9% loss) and MPI (27% loss). My AC stock is for long term, while ALI and MP are for flipping. What do you think will be the future of these stocks if the government files a case against Ayala and Pangilinan? Should I cut loss now? Thanks in advance.
Hi, no worries, all global markets (not just PH) were down the past few days. PH economy was also affected by global market correction and just recently, China virus. If the government filed a case against those companies, stocks will surely fall but I don’t think it’s gonna be a massive decline. It’s not advisable to cut loss now while the iron’s still hot. Let the dust settle for a bit. All companies face some scandal at some point. As a long term investor and who believes on those companies so much, it’s a great time to buy on the dip 🙂
Thanks a lot, Ms. Fehl. You’re a great encouragement.
Hi, Ma’am Fhel! as per fantastic five strategy. how much and how often do you mean by “invest slowly & dont stop until tp is reached?” would that be on a daily basis on a 1k budget? correct me if am worng. newbie here.
Hi, you can invest per month using your monthly budget
Ms. Felh, hello! What should we do with MPI? It’s at 2.69 now. Thanks in advance.
Same here! It has gone down to the sink. Should we flush or keep it?
Glad to see MPI is recovering at P3.11 now as of Dec. 17, 2019.
So far di pa naman siya tinanggal sa Magic 10 Stocks , so I guess I should hold onto my MPI stocks, especially since I am a long term investor?
Hi Fehl,
I already have 3 of your BIG 5 in my portfolio, except for JFC and SM. I find SM a bit too pricey for my budget, though. Would you recommend MER? I’ve had it since 2017.
Hi, Lyn 🙂 You can invest SMPH instead of SM. It’s also an excellent company focused on properties and rental revenue. Shares are very affordable as well 🙂
Ms fehl,
How about meg? Is it advisable to invest at this point?
Hi mam!
Also interested in investing to MEG. Any thoughts please.
Thank you!
Hi Ms. Fhel, would you recommend DMC for long term investment? It was my first stock when I started stock market and I have been holding it for quite sometime now. Would like to know your advice with this.
Hi Ms. Fehl, What is your take on Facebook’s Libra? Any recommendation?
Hi, Dante. I like Facebook’s fundamentals however, I’m not so convinced to invest with Libra especially when companies who used to backed it up like MasterCard, PayPal, Visa, and eBay stopped joining the project. Maybe not the right time yet.
Thanks a lot Ms. Fehl for your valuable advice as always.
Hi Miss Fehl, thank you for this page. Ang saya-saya tingnan ng JFC stocks ngayon. 🙂
My pleasure 🙂 Food is king 🙂 Congrats with our stocks!
Hai maam Fehl, im still new at this kind of investment. If I only invest once like 10k lump sum is it still profitable? Can investing 10k twice a year be possible?
Hi, yes you can invest that amount if you like it. You are the boss 😉 It will always be profitable as long as you choose the right companies and you know your strategy (ie: make 1% per month or 12% per year). The higher the investment, the higher the return
Hi Ms. Fehl, what would be your strategy for HOME? Thanks 🙂
Hi, Mon 🙂 The market is down, so many worthy stocks to buy at the dips than spending some for the IPO of HOME. That’s my personal approach though. Cheers!
10 years later pa no?
JFC super mega bagsak ang presyo as of this posting date and time. 212. sarap bumili.
The news about Trump impeachment made US stocks and other stock markets decline. Take this opportunity to buy worthy stocks 🙂
And now its 220
Hi I have my col account for a long time but im not active trader but decided to be active again. I was wondering if you still recommend mpi, I know its good to buy kasi nasa bbp but I bought a few shares 2 years ago and Im at loss of 19% would you still recommend me to buy more of their stocks? what do you think?
Hi, MPI is a very good company but its price is slow to move up. If you still can keep your shares, I suggest hold them until you see some gains. Perhaps, 5% or up profit is good then.
hi i need suggestions po.. i bought BDO and DNL 5 years ago pero napabayaan at di nadagdagan ng funds.. at this time BDO has 67% gain and DNL has 150% gain.. i’d like to make BDO my long term investment and DNL for medium to long term investment pero for sure pag bumili ako ngayon mag-aaverage yung price nila.. ano po suggestion nyong dapat kong gawin?
Buy other undervalued stocks nalang from Blue chip companies. 🙂
hi fhel. May ongoing long term investment din kasi ako. thank you
Hi, Crizele 🙂 F5 stocks are not purely for short term. Yes, they can hit their target in a short time but sometimes it will also take time for them to grow. Add bonds on your options for short term investment. Cheers!
Hi Mam, May i ask ano po yung bonds?
Hi John 🙂 Bonds are fixed income money instruments in the form of loans. In simple words, if you invest in bonds, para ka nadin nag-pautang sa government, corporations, or borrowers. You will earn fixed income. Example of bonds with attractive interests are RTB (Retail Treasury Bonds). Check out this guide: https://philpad.com/how-to-invest-retail-treasury-bonds-in-the-philippines-rtb-guides/
Hi po.. Bago lang ako sa stock market investment and planning to buy cebu pac, sa tingin nyo po ba worth it sya? salamat
As a newbie and for those who don’t have time to study companies on a deeper level like me, i think using the magic 10 strategy for now is better.
Hi Fehl,
I started investing in JFC but not as BIG 5 Strategy but for Flipping since the price is so undervalued as of today. Actually na hit niya na yung 2 year Lowest price niya (217php) which makes me interested to buy more of JFC. The sudden decline I think dahil sa acquisition nila sa CBTL (Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf).
Will you include this as well sa UnderValued list niyo? Tingin mo mas bababa pa lalo price niya?
Nabasa ko rin sa news na makakabawi rin naman ang JFC so would you recommend it for flipping?
Hi 🙂 The sudden decline was caused by CBTL, yes and also the market is down due to US and China trade war. Last week NASDAQ and S&P500 were down, as well. Today, Asian markets are on decline. I think everything will recover soon so it’s wise to invest now while stocks prices are on dip.
Nice! Thanks! Happy Investing.. God Bless always!
Ma’am ano po masasabi ninyo sa ALLHC? pwede bang long term? thank you.
Our COO advice me to buy ALLHC .having it for 1 month already and got 5.21% P/L now 🙂
Gano din sa aking mutual fund na Philequity 2991sh with average price of 35.80 ang price now is 40.48. If 7-10 years at least bago ibenta, bibili pa ba ako kahit mataas na ang NAVPS ?
Maraming salamat. Your reply will be profoundly appreciated.
God bless .
Hi, Sabel. If your goal is long term investing, you shouldn’t care much about the price of the stock as long as you invest regularly and you choose an excellent company. BDO is a great company for long term so yeah, after 5 years or so, you’ll see income in the long run. Do not be greedy and do not be affected emotionally when the market goes down or up, stick to your goal. Cheers!
Maraming salamat, advise profoundly appreciated. God bless!
Thank you!
hello miss fehl, ask ko lng about PAL good stocks po b ito?matagal ko kasi gusto buy nito, now tumaas n sya
PAL is a great company and it needs time and patience talaga investing with it
Our FB page is https://www.facebook.com/dailypik/
thank! responsive as always
Thanks for the FGEN tip. I have been a follower since I first started in stocks in 2015. And I have been sharing this site to my friends as well. May God bless you Ms. Fehl.
Hi Ms. Fehl! Thank you very much for your recommendations. I earned 22% from FGEN. God bless u and more power!
Thanks again po Ms. Fehl! God bless!
Thank you for unselfishly helping us out in this journey Ms. Fehl! May God bless you. ♥
What do you suggest to do with the capital and profit from FGEN?
Hi 🙂 God bless us all. I suggest to re-invest to another stocks again, prioritizing blue chips. Cheers!
Hello Ms Fhel. Can you share to us yung formula nyo po sa pagkuha ng Target Price? Thank you 😊 God bless 😊
Hi 🙂 You may check out this post here: https://dailypik.com/how-to-know-if-stocks-are-undervalued-or-overvalued/
Hello Ms. Fehl! Your website is a godsend. Just sold my fgen stocks with almost 50% gain. Wish I bought more. lol. Thank you so much!
Congrats to all of us 🙂
Many Thanks Ms. Fehl for the investment guide.. 👍🙏
thank you ms. fehl… its worth waiting for fgen. 🙂
Miss Fehl, Thanks so much for this site! It’s very helpful for us na di ganun ka bihasa sa stock trading.
We just hit the target price for FGEN. I’m looking forward to know kung anong magiging kapalit niya sa F5. 🙂 Although, do you think it would still be a wise idea to keep it since may new valuation for it, pegging it to be around 30.20? Thanks!
Hi, Joy 🙂 Pleasure is mine. Sell it na, tagal kaya naten hinintay yan 🙂
Noted. Thanks po! 🙂
Miss Fehl! Nakakaloka na si FGEN! Maraming $alamat po!
Nagbunga na ang patience 🙂
Hi guys, need your advise. Naloka rin ako kay FGEN, natuwa ako kasi may profit na ko na 3k so I decided to lock in my profits and sell -just to try kasi newbie pa ko and have never sold my stocks before. So nag breakeven lang ako nun? -_- kainis lesson learned. Pano ba dapat gawin after mo makakuha ng profit and gusto mo pang palaguin? Need help Ms. Fehl.
Hi there! We have the same feeling when I was starting. But as time goes by, we learn. For me, I try to invest the profits sa Big 5. And then reinvest yung original amount sa F5 para lumago.
Thank you sa reply Mark Ian! As a newbie, akala ko basta may realized profits ka na after selling – sure na may gains ka na. Yun pala, importante rin where you will reinvest. And true that as we go along, we keep on learning. Hindi naman ako nalugi, pero I learned an important lesson. Salamat sa inputs mo. 🙂
Miss fehl! Godbless!
Hi Daily Pickers, I’ve created an app for COL Financial Traders to easily compute your profit.
You’ll just need to enter x shares, buy and sell price!
Newbie here sa stock trading. Thank you po.
Always a pleasure 🙂
Hi Ms Fehl. MPI is sinking. Should we cut our losses and sell?
Hi! You could actually look at it in two ways:
1.) mabibili na yung stock at a bargain since mababa ang price
2.) you are incurring losses as compared to how much you bought the stock before
I suggest the use of trailing stops to prevent further losses-like -10% or -15% depende sa risk tolerance ng investor.
But if you look at these stocks on a bigger picture, these fluctuation in prices are irrelevant over the long run.
Hi Ms. Fehl. Many thanks.
Hello Mr. Levi’s! Kaya po lumalaki ung average price gawa po Commission, VAT and SCCP Fees.
hi miss fehl,,ask lang po,,ok po ba ang fgen pang long term investment or 1 yr po
Hi Ms. Fehl, just want to know your thoughts on CHP (Cemex Holdings Phils.) Do you think this company has a potential? Thank you and looking forward to your reply. I love reading your blogs, they’re really helpful and I learned to become more disciplined when focusing on my goals and targets in stock market. 🙂
Hi Anne 🙂 I only recommend CHP for flipping but not for investing. Right now, it’s undervalued. See https://dailypik.com/undervalued-stocks-in-the-philippines-latest-list/
Hi again Ms. Fehl. What can you say about Golden Bria Holdings Inc.? I have a friend who earned a good sum from this stock. I also checked their history in Bloomberg. A penny on your thoughts regarding this co.? Do you think it’s worth it to invest in this company? Thank you and God bless!
Fehl, i just wanna ask if i should be worried about my stocks sa smph now that henry sy died. Meron kayang impact? If yes, good or bad? Thanks
Hi 🙂 I don’t see a bad impact as of now. The chairman has left a great legacy and excellent management. In times like this, big companies always move forward. Cheers!
Hi ms fehl, I just got confused about ALI, cause it is included in both b5 and f5? What would you recommend? Do I need to keep on buying it or not?
Hi Ms Fehl. Just want to ask what platform you’re using. COL Financial? BPI? BDO Nomura?
Hi, Jenn 🙂 I’m using COL Financial for most of my stocks since it’s the top online broker when I started investing. And now I’m also using BDO Nomura and Metro Sec Pro for flipping stocks.
hi Ms fehl, good day po. ask ko lang po if may estimated time ka po na ma hit ng SMPH ang TP nya? thank you!
Hi 🙂 Can’t give an estimate time but SMPH can hit it anyway 🙂 Cheers!
This blog is a real godsend. I’m already having short and long term gains from your stock picks its unbelievable. Can I ask tho what are the analytical methods you use to pick these stocks? Also, how long do you generally wait before you meet the target price? Months? Weeks?
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR AMAZING WORK
Hi Kay 🙂 Good to know that 🙂 Congrats! I mostly use Fundamental coz I’m a passive investor. It’s not purely personal picks, I also consider some expert friends’ advice. 🙂 Depends, 3 years ago it used to be weeks, then 2 years ago few months, now it’s slower but I don’t complain as long as I always get gains. Happy New Year!
I like your blog Ms. Fehl. I am quite new to investing in stocks & I am still waiting for my bdo nomura acct to be activated. Until today I havent received any emails yet that my nomura acct is approved. I registered last dec 30 but until now i havent received any reply yet. I guess I’ll have to wait a week for this? wat would you suggest?
Hi, Diana 🙂 It will be activated. Wait for a day. Maybe may holiday hangover pa sa office. Also check out your spam folder baka andon ang email nila. Cheers! Happy New Year! 🙂
Hi again Fehl. My account just got activated today and I’m a bit excited and I think i’ll have to follow the peso -cost averaging on this post. Thanks a lot!
Ganda ng bagong itsura ng page 😊
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like it. 🙂 I’m still fixing some things out to make it better for you all.
Hi Ms. Fehl,
Newbie lang po ako sa stock market. ask ko lng po kung ano po ung basis nio to get the target price? thanks
Hi! I have a question. I noticed in Meralco, they declared dividends twice, special and regular. The question is, should i be expecting to receive two cash dividends as well?
Apparently, BPITrade is only depositing one (regular) cash dividend to my account. I find this weird.
Ms Fehl…salamat sa blog mo na ito at meron kaming natututunan at nakukuhang idea…ask ko lang kung paano mo malaman kung yun stocks na nailagay mo sa sell ay nabili ba o puwede rin ba syang hindi mabili at the end of the day or kapag ba nailagay mo na sya sa sell ay automatic na nabili na ba sya…actually di pa ako nakaka open ng stocks account kaya wala pa ako idea and nagbabasa pa lang ako at pumasok sa isipan ko itong question na ito…thanks sa reply…
Hi. For Aug. 13, you mentioned that the current price of JFC is 267 and its buy below price is 233. However, your recommendation is still to buy stocks from it. Why is this so?
Big 5 has no buy below price. This means regardless of price, it is ok to buy these (monthly) if you’re following the Big 5 method.
mam what do you think of mutual funds? ok po ba stocks plus. mutual funds or should I focus on stocks only? or mutual funds only?
mam ano po masasabi nyo sa pldt
TEL (PLDT) is the biggest telecom company in the Philippines. It’s good to invest for long term but you have to consider the fast changes in technology that’s why it’s very risky. Anyway, more pros about investing in the company than the cons 🙂
Bakit negative na yung growth ng URC? What does that mean? Newbie palang ako and thanks to you Ms. Fehl and sa ibang readers mo rin for sharing their knowledge, I’m now an investor! 🙂
Downtrend kasi ang URC kaya negative ang return for 1 year na nakikita mo.
Thank you so much ms. fehl for the daily updates.
Hi Ms Fehl, what’s your analysis with URC? Bumagsak na at patuloy na hinihila pababa?
Thanks
Newbie here….I keep accumulating stocks of MPI. Is it worth it? I have now 5,300 shares since I started last April 26, 2018. Thanks.
wow! nice one if its for long term plan. however always diversify your money. dont put all in one basket. good luck!
Hi Ms Fehl,
I’m new to stocks, and found your site to be of big help. I would like to ask why ALI is both on the Big5 and Fantastic5? And what is your take on Option24?
Thanks a lot.
Decided to add it in F5 as well because many people are making requests to include strong-buy blue chips for F5 even if they’re among B5, too
Hi, thanks for taking time to reply. May the good Lord continue to bless you for sharing your talent especially for newbies like me. BTW what is your take on SMC and EAGLE considering SMC got quite a number of projects from the government?
Hi Ms Fehl what is the best to buy SMPH or Ali for long term
Thanks.
Hi Ms. Fehl,
Im new to stock market. I have a bpi trading account and currently i have 100 shares on 1 of the big 5. I’m planning to buy shares very soon but i’m not sure if i should buy on the same stock which will basically add to my 100 shares or should i buy a new stock already and complete the F5 first? And let’s say i have shares on all of the F5 already, should i regularly increase (say monthly, as recommended on the post) my shares until the target price is met (then sell)?
hi, listing date for MBT SRO will be on April 12 🙂
target price for JFC?
JFC is under BIG 5 category which means for long terms investment (10years+).so no TP is necessary it will be depend on investor when he/she will sell the shares.
Hanggang 427.50 ceiling price according to COL. Ang fair value as per latest report P280/sh FV.
Are you going to change recommended BBP and target price for MBT?
Yup, I changed it already 🙂
Ms Fehl is it applicable na bibilin ko lahat ng andun magic 10 or pipili lang aq dun ng kahit 5. Plan kopo kc invest khit 25k-50k monthly. Salamat po and mabuhay
Hi Fehl, I noticed BDO Nomura is not on your list of trade platforms? I registered at BDO Nomura and I already started trading. Please enlighten me.
It is on the list. Already made a post about BDO Nomura here 🙂
Hi fehl! I would like to ask about your opinion in buying MRC allied? should I wait for it to increased til 10 then sell?
Hi Fehl, any thoughts on MPI why its going down? Since it was in your fast five, was thinking this is a good time to buy, average down and get addl volume. Thanks.
i have my stock on shell..i bought it at 67php..now price is 58.65..can i ask what is your recomendation…
Average down po. May resistance level until P62.
I have SMPH for almost 1 year…I’ve earned 30,000 before and I dont sell it for this period of almost a year. But now all my 30,000 profit has been lost because SMPH is declining. Should I sell it once I reach another 30K in the near future? Hope it will.
Hi Rolando 🙂 Before you invest, you must first have a goal or a target. What’s your target with SMPH? If it reached your target, then sell. God bless 🙂
Hi Ms. Fhel,
Any thoughts on TBGI?
Thanks,
Hype stocks TBGI mas maganda magtsupit sa NOW, not recommended for long term. Follow the table sa Magic10 kung long-term except FGEN hehehe.
I tried buying but the says: ACCOUNT NOT ENROLLED YET.
Do I have to wait another day or two to start trading?
Hi Fehl,
I’m excited to start trading in stock. Just open an account with COL starter.
Need some help from the experts like you. I also subscribe in TRC for some guidance.
I’m hesitant to buy my first stock, what stock? how much should i buy? and anything.
What I have in mind were BDO and ALI. Are they good?
Thank you so much. God speed! 🙂
Hi Melpen 🙂 Welcome to Dailypik. I know the feeling of excitement when you’re a beginner with stocks. I recommend starting with blue chip stocks because they are already established companies so you would minimize risk. BDO and ALI are excellent choices especially now 🙂 BDO is very generous in terms of dividends. ALI has recurring income making it one of my fave stocks 🙂 How much should you invest? Only you can answer that because it depends upon your financial capacity and status. Invest 20% of your income with blue chip stocks, you’re gonna reap the rewards of income in the coming years. Cheers! 🙂
Thank you so much Fehl
I really appreciate your help.
Blue chip stocks are noted and targeted.
Thanks again and God bless you more.
Cheers! 🙂
Hi Ms. Fehl,
Thank you for this simple blog yet so informative.
I’m planning to buy 100 units from JFC, do you think it’s still a good buy knowing that it closed to 293? Or is there a possibility that it would go low?
And btw, how to know what is the minimum units to buy and how will I knkw if a certain stock will release dividend, may it be cash or stock.
Thank you in advance!
-Jerome
Hi Jerome, If you are planning a long term investment then it is a good buy in my opinion. Based on it’s history, JFC is going up and will still go up in future.
Hi Jerome 🙂 Yes, JFC is one of the best blue chip stocks I recommend here in Dailypik. Food is king 🙂 Check out the boardlot to know the minimum number of shares you can buy with a certain stock. Type the code of a stock and select buy, you’ll see the boardlot. You can check out our dividends page here in Dailypik or check out your broker’s dividends schedule.
Hi Ms Fhel,
Any thoughts on MBT stock offering? And can you compare it with the stock offering from EDC? I just want to know if I have to sell or keep adding MBT now?
Hi Ann 🙂 MBT is still performing excellent. I personally say YES to the stock rights offer if your strategy with MBT is long term passive investing. MBT will raise capital for strong loan growth. If you are into long term, it will benefit you more. BPI also announced stocks rights offer. I’m also giving it a go for long term strategy. However, if you’re into short term, the stock rights might cause the price of the companies to drop a bit although not significantly. Cheers!
Hi Fehl, after the long wait mukhang bubulusok na paitaas si URC. Do you have a recommended TP for this stock? And gusto ko po sana bumili ng shares to increase my gain, anu po BBP na marecommend niyo?
Thanks!
Hi po… May pagasa pa bang tumaas ung Seven Eleven.. I bought it @140 last month..until now kasi ndi pa siya nakakabawi
hi ms fehl, tanong k lng, ung last trade price ba gagamiting value para sa stock certificate shares? ex: i hav 384 shares at ung last trade price ay 970.00….so 384 x 970.00..tama po b?..tnx
Hi Yuri, usually the trading day when you have made the request
ok tnx fehl, little bit confuse with regards to par value and market value, i still have to lodge my stock cert. to open an account with rcbc..my choice, sila kc ang stock trnsfer agent..thank you so much n God bless
Ok lang sakin… nabenta ko siya at 108… Then bought FGEN… I’m expecting to receive some dividends ngayong Jan 25… very happy with these transactions…
I’m glad with that, Onin. Cheers! 🙂
Hi Mr. Onin, FGEN Cash dividend will be paid on January 25 pero as of January 2, 2018 record only ung cover ng cash dividend.
oo nga po preferred pala sya..i double check in pse edge.thanks.
Hi! What does it mean na “record only ung cover ng cash dividend.”? Sorry, I’m fairly new to trading and may shares ako ng FGEN so naconcern ako.
Calms me down to hear from you. Thanks Ms. Fehl 🙂
FGEN! Ms Fehl! ????
same here…any update madam fehl sa FGen…
Hi 🙂 FGEN is still updated. You have to invest more time to wait for it to grow unless of course you badly need the money you use for it. Be patient a little more. God bless!
Planning to sell MBT to buy FGEN… at 18% gain ako sa mbt… is it a good idea?
If ur into long term investment naman, I think its a good idea although it seems matatagalan makabawi price ng FGEN.. I also have it in my portfolio.
Come to think of it kung long term investment why sell MBT pala?
Hi Ms Fehl good day. Tanong ko lang if its worth buying BDO stocks 10 shares per month for 7-10 yrs at the current price of P160 – P 161 per share? Maraming salamat.
Makikialam na ko sumagot hehhee.. Yes, it’s worth it.. long term naman investment naman.. buy more shares whenever prices are down.. peso cost averaging..
It’s good to invest in BDO po. Consistent dividends and low risk kasi blue chip. The commission fee has a minimum charge of Php 20 per transaction.
Hi Ms. Fehl,
Which among the four stop picks is the most preferable for a person who is a passive trader? More of a long term investor? Thank you 🙂
Any of the picks will do if you’re into long term investing..???? these picks are blue chip companies.
Thoughts on RLC?
Hi Fehl. What are your thoughts on DNL? It’s part of the latest COLing the Shots replacing RRHI
Hi, DNL is not enough to be a “strong buy” for me right now so not including it here. Just not yet 🙂 Happy Holidays!
madam ask ko lang bakit si ALI included in both F5 at sa B5. for long term ba sya or sell din base on notification nyo.
Yes, you can either use if for F5 and B5 strategy as of now. 🙂
Hi, what’s your take about RLC? thanks
hi Fhel, I just started investing and I want to practice a bit more on the blue chips..
may i get an insight or update if I should buy ALI or MPI or MBT?? which one is more promising among the three??
thanks a lot in advance God bless po!
Hi 🙂 All 3 have great potential. They are different from each other (property, infrastructure, bank respectively) but are all excellent companies nonetheless. Have all 3 🙂
Hi Fehl good day, po ask ko lng po kung yng MBT po ba is pwd pang long term
Yes, good for long term, it is listed among our Best Blue Chip Stocks as well
Hi Ms. Fehl, what happened to FGEN? It’s been a looong wait…
Pangbenta na yan
24% paper loss na. hehehe
Hi Guys,
As per Ms. Fehl previous comment, she said it will take time to recover the FGEN, and if your doing some research like wall street journal the consensus is overweight and the forecast will reach to 29 per share and i think 26 TP here in DP is conservative/average. For those who can’t wait to recover and willing to take risk of the loss, go ahead and sell your share, but for somebody like me, i’m willing to wait since we are passive investor. As Ms. Fehl said, patience is a virtue. Goodluck and happy investing.
GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks @Jhen, most probably I’ll wait…
Hi Fehl!
Quick question maam…
Been reviewing the charts of some of the companies you listed, and it seems like that every last week of December, the prices of these stocks are low. Will this be good buying time for long term investments?
Thanks Fehl!
If I may add…GLAD you do your homework meaning watching the trends and yes your observations are spot on
However all forms of stocks MM UITF will do this because they are connected to the same market 4th. Quarter hysteria, which is directly influenced by the Thanksgiving holiday and Christmas.
If you are one who understand flipping, 3 to 4 days before Thanksgiving USA time is wise to sell and wait untill it just passes your sell price
All of this will go up and down because of the insider trading and tred watchers like you, and once again….good job….
Ass I said I find it best to be ready to jump back in anytime after the 19 or 22 of December, or wait until mid janauary, but watch the markets guys….it can. Spike with Christmas joy and rum then drop again…check you graphs
For those of you who are long term, in for the long term, meaning brown bager, just sit tight and ride it out….the market is always volital this time of year…never ever sell low out of fear or buy high out of manic buying
Miss Fehl??.?
But, one thing na most helpful na gawin is always be aware sa standing ng company you invested your hard earned money to. CHP’s earnings dropped down drastically the past months. They changed their boardlot to 1k from 100 per boardlot.
As long as nothing is sold yet, the losses are only in paper.
CHP is included in the undervalued stocks and have great potential for growth. But you may want to lower the average value of your CHP stock now since it may be much higher than the current BBP if you say that your current loss is at 52%.
Hi Ms. Fehl, patiently waiting for your replacement sa MEG. Thank you in advance.
Me too 🙂
Same here. Thank you ms fehl for our MEG profit!
Yan na, may replacement na 🙂
Thank you Ms. Fehl
Ms. Fehl,
I missed the Target Price of MEG. What was it again? I haven’t sold my MEG yet. Thank you.! ????
Hello Joy 🙂 MEG’s TP was 5.50. We might add it again if we find it undervalued so just check out the list for Undervalued everyday 🙂 Cheers!
Hi! What is the target price of BDO?
Hello. BDO is in long term investment list. Target year is 10+.
MEGA panalo sa MEG!!!
Ms Fehl, any thoughts re: AGI? I know its not in the top 10 list here, pero worry ako kasi nabaon na yung negative gain ko dito, although 1.6k shares lang naman, pero 4k pesos na loss ko dito. May chance pa ba na umahon ito? hehe. thanks and more power
congrats to MEG holders! sana sunod na si FGEN 🙂
Yahooooo! Finally….
Who or how is the opening price for a stock determine every trading day? I just started investing a month ago and I notice that the closing price will not necessarily be the opening price on the next trading day. So, I guess the opening price is determined by other factors.. Please feel free to answer..
What’s happening to FGEN??
FGEN’s gas plants had lower earnings I think unexpected mishaps added effect to it like the Malampaya outage and Batangas earthquake in April
I’m following FGEN under the magic 5. I suppose it’s still good, right? Hope it could stop going down already.
it will take time to recover, just wait and be patient
I can’t replace any stock there unless we hit the target for it. Wait nalang po. In the mean time, you can check out our recommended blue chip stocks list
I want to buy 200 shares of SMPH. What’s the risk if I buy it today at 35 which is the exact BBP?
Thanks!
Buy now and you only have to wait when it reached 42.You gain profit of around 7*200=1400 more or less.
If you’re into long term, you can buy SMPH whatever the price is, under the BBP or not 🙂 It’s an excellent company
Hi Fehl,
Thank you so much for your blogs, as i mentioned few weeks ago, i received cash dividend from ALI and this week, i received from BDO and MPI, i’m so overwhelmed kasi di ko ineexpect in this early stage na kastart ko pa lng bumili ng shares. It’s not much pero sarap pala sa feeling na bigla ka na lng makareceived ng email na merong cash dividend from the company you invested. You help us so much. Without your blog baka until now nag iisip pa din ako ng investment. I wish you good health, more knowledge to share, enjoy your travel around the globe, people need someone like you. You touch our lives ng di mo namamalayan. God Bless and happy investing.
Thank you Jhen. God bless us all 🙂
Hello Ms Fhel,
Just need some feedback about Col EIP, may gumagamit ba nun dito?
any thoughts?
Yes, it’s good if you don’t have the time to buy stocks periodically. COL will do the automatic buying for you. Just make sure you have funds available. We have a review about EIP sa Philpad. 🙂
Hi tanong ko lng po what happen sa SCC or semirara last month 170+ pa yung price ngayon 40+ nlng ng nag charting ako sa prices wla ng history na naging 170+ yung stock nalilito po talga ako please help me answer my question, thnx oi
Hi, Reyan. I already answered same question 🙂 Effect yan ng 300% Stock Dividends (Ex-Div. Date Sept. 12, 2017). Wait for your stocks dividends (payable on Oct. 11, 2017)
hi Ms Fhel and everyone!
thanks again for this very informative site. share ko lang ang ginawa ko the other day to get my feet wet in trading. and some enlightenment na din: nag try akong bumili ng shares ng JFC during active trading hours, bumili ako three times, these are the prices: 220.40, 208, 181.20( crazy prices!) nung nakita ko yung mga prices na yan, bumili kaagad ako. pero 181.20 rejected right away and the other two were cancelled. can you give me possible reasons bakit di natuloy? 2nd, what time is the best time to buy stocks, after trading hours?
thanks!
Hello Mr. Alan, how many lots are you trying to purchase?usually po pag narereject agad is below lot required.JFC required lot minimum is 10.
hi Jhen,
by 10s ko nga sya binili. corrections lang, 3pm pala ako nagsubscribe.
Maam , anong nangyari sa AC but ganon kataas agad inangat?
newbie pa lang ako at nag gather ng mga info about stock and your blog help me a lot.
hi fehl,
at what price ideal sell ang MAX, MER and PHEN? baka you can advise naman, pls? thanks!
MER-360 according to COLing the shots
thanks memouly, wait pa more…medyo malayo pa
Hi Ms. Fehl! how often do you update this stocks picks page (F5 & B5)? thanks
Ms. Fehl,
I missed the Target Price of CEB. What was it again? I haven’t sold my CEB yet. Thank you.!
110
Hi Ms. Fehl,
A blessed monday to you. Just want to say thank you for your blogs,i started to buy stocks last August 2017 and guest what, i bought few shares from Ayala Land Inc., and this morning i received email for cash divided, WOW i’m not expecting it hence very grateful to experienced to received dividends for the first time. Thank you Ms. Fehl and good luck to all of us.
It’s always my pleasure Jen 🙂 I know the feeling of getting dividends. God bless!
Good day po, ask lang po paano po malaman kung may dividend yung nabili na stocks? Thank you po in advance
Hello Nette, you will receive email po na nagbigay sila ng cash dividend and to confirm your cash dividend you can check po in your trading account, for me, i’m using BDO Nomura,so upon reading the email, i checked my BDO Nomura – transaction history and andun po nasa credit account ko ung cash dividend, not much pero additional fund for me to buy shares.
Hi Ma’am Fhel, I’m Mike a new stock investor. I just want to ask your advice in what to read to learn the technical analysis. (reading stocks trends, when to buy and sell stocks).
Hi, I’m not into technical analysis as I focus on fundamental and passive income. But I have studied it through seminars. You can attend free seminars from some brokers or have paid ones as well.
Thank you so much Ma’am Fehl.
Ms Fehl, ano po yung pwedeng maging replacement for CEB for F5? Thanks!
Hi, Jamie. SMPH is back on the F5. 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
I can’t wait kung ano ang ipapalit kay CEB! Thanks Fehl as always.
I personally don’t recommend SCC here in Dailypik as it’s too volatile. I don’t want to get in trouble hahaha Might be good for active traders
Hi Fhel and to everyone! I’m just kinda new to investing and I’m curious on what strategy to use. I plan to invest for 5-10 years and I can find time to monitor my portfolio frequently. Is it more profitable in flipping stocks (like buying at BBP and selling at TP) rather than investing at monthly for long term period (PCA)? I would highly appreciate your feedback. Thank you very much!
Good Afternoon Ms Fehl,
I just started buying stock via my COL account today. Newbie here, tanong ko lang sana.. bought stocks of BDO, MPI, FGEN using the latest prices as of the moment but my stocks are showing losses.. paano ba ito? Kabibili lang may losses na?
Hi, possible reason po is because of the tax and commission when you bought the stocks. Your avg price should be higher than the market price to see a gain. By today you should have received an email from COL regarding your trade and you can see the breakdown from there. Experts, pls correct me if i’m wrong.
Thanks a lot!
Hi Ms. Fehl!
Thank you very much for your website and FB page, learning a lot! 🙂
Quick question maam… Im planning a long term (5-10 years) investment on the Big 5 (aside from URC). Let’s say I am willing to invest Php 1M… Would you suggest PCA or Lump Sum investment?
Thanks Fehl!
Hi i’m Francis, a newbie (just started this month,
ive buy fgen(17.5), urc(143), gtcap(1142) at there lowest price this august. i dont see gtcap on the list of recommended stock, must i sell them immediately when i achieve a small profit or should i hold? for Fgen upto which value do you think is a good selling point?
also, i want to go for long term on SMPH or ALI, which of the two do you recommend?
Thank you….
Hello Francis! GTCAP is currently not among our Undervalued Stocks list so it’s up to you how long you should hold. For FGEN, just check out our picks 🙂 Between SMPH and ALI, I recommend having both 🙂
URC is on a down trend… is it still a viable stock option? should I buy while it is at 139 or wait a few? It is already at the BBP but I am unsure if this will go further down. looking at diversifying since I already have ALI.
We still recommend buying if you’re into PCA
How about FGEN?
Hi ms fhel.. Fgen is still a good investment in the long run? Thanks
Hi. Newbie here. I am currently holding 4 stocks at the moment per your recommendation and after thorough reading the company’s background. Is it necessary to have Big 5 and Fantastic 5 stocks altogether? I really find it hard to budget and buy these stocks every month, especially SM which is quite expensive. Can I just choose 4 from the Big 5 and 3 from the Fantastic 5? Current budget is 60K/month.
Hi,Michelle. It’s not necessary to have all the 10 stocks at once. You must always follow what you’re comfortable to invest with that suits your budget , risk management and objective as an investor. Cheers!
Hello Ms. Fhel! My MF aq and 30k ang budget q every month. How many Blue chips can you suggest with the 25k budget? ung 5000 id for my MF.
Ms Fehl, Ghost Month is fast approaching.. I’m holding ALI CEB FGEN and MEG. Should I sell them now? And just buy back when Ghost Month is over?
In the last two years, I always see Stocks Plummeting during Ghost Month. So since stocks are likely to depreciate next month, might as well sell for now and buy back after they prices go down right?
I have the same question 🙂
If you are into active trading yes, that would be a good strategy but consider the dividends before any action
Malaki?
Hi Ara. You can check out our Dividends page about that 🙂 Cheers!
Maam Fehl okay ba ang BPI mag EIP starting this time? thanks!
thank you for telling me 🙂 naloka ako sa typo ng TP LOL It’s OK now
Ms Fehl, ano po marecommend nyo replacement ng EW for F5. Thanks
same question Fehl 🙂
It’s been replaced now. Check it out above 🙂
Hi Ms. Fehl, maraming maraming salamat po for sharing the profits from EW. May God bless you more.. sana po hinde kau mag sawa mg share ng blessings nyo.. Si Papa God napo bahala sa inyo and to your family. 🙂
Hi Sassy 🙂 You are so sweet. I’m so touched. Thank you and God bless you, too <3
Hi Ms Fehl,
Please enlighten me, I’m confused:
In the Stock Picks section, suggested ACTION for ALI, for example, is BUY. But in the Undervalued Stocks section, it says Stop Buying (because the price is above BBP). What must I follow? Thanks
Hi Chester, that is because the STRATEGY and GOAL for the Stock Picks are different with the one we apply for Undervalued Stocks. The strategies are mentioned on each page. Cheers!
Hi Fehl. You recommended SMPH, MBT & MPI for flipping. SMPH has BBP 25 & TP 30 indicated in your site. Price now is 33.80. Is it still a buy? MBT has BBP 83 with current price 85. Is it also a buy? MPI has BBP 6.40 with current price 6.37. Is it a buy too considering the small margin? Thanks.
Hi Fehl. Where did you get those Buy Below Price & Target Price? How did you compute it? Thanks.
Hi Fehl. Just bought B5 BDO, SM, ALI, JFC & URC following your picks for PCA long term method. Will invest monthly for B5. Anymore F5 buy recommendation aside from FGEN? I also bought EDC for flipping. Thanks.
SMPH, MBT and MPI 🙂
Thanks Fehl. Is it a good time to buy those B5 when prices exceed BBP & are high?
Bumaba ang FGEN dahil sa earning ????. Buy pa ba o sell nalang? Kakatakot ????
Nagdadalawang isip ako kung opportunity to buy pa ba ang FGEN? Its a good company thou.
Mee, too. What do you think Ms Fehl?
Buy more shares. Follow the strategy. Be patient.
i have fgen since 2015 my average is 27.76 and my loss is 20k+ as of this date. I think this is the right time if you wanted to buy fgen. for me its a long way to go.
Now COL is removing FGEN from their stock pick list. Should we stop buying or still stick to the plan?
Hi, COLing the Shots can remove and add their picks anytime and occasionally. If you want to realize your loss from FGEN, simple sell but if you want to have gains, stick to your original plan. It’s up to you.
I have fgen too,
I have a bad outlook for energy sector in the future,
The technology is improving, solar energy and storage solution is the energy of the future and its coming fast, and the prices is spiraling down.
by of mid 2020’s there will be lots of off grid connection. Some analyst says solar energy will be so cheap that even power producer will give the electricity for free it cant compete with it,,, why? there is transmission (transco) and distribution cost (meralco).
Solar is off grid 🙂 like tesla roof.
Avoid exposure on this as well as on traditional auto makers we’re on EV’s age.
I forgot, avoid oil sector too.
Hi,
For almost 2 years I followed the Magic 5. It is very effective, maybe except to FGEN 😀
I have budget of 16K every month, so I buy 2 stocks (8K each) per month. My portfolio today is not balanced, my fgen is almost 40% of my port. ceb and meg around 20%, ew and mbt around 10%. is that alright?
Should I stop buying fgen even the price is under bbp?
It is so hard to balanced the port, specially if other stocks price are above bbp.
Any advice?
Hi Josh,
FGEN is a giant electric company. It’s disappointing earning is just temporary. I believe it is an opportunity to buy more stocks of FGEN. Remember, patience is a very important virtue here. . .
Any insights on MRC po?
Hi Miss Fehl,
Can you tell us on how you get the Target price and Buy below price newbie here.
Thanks!
FV or TP is something that you compute. You need the the company’s financial statements and other relevant information. BBP is something that you set in order to maximize your gain by controlling your average buy price.
THanks po. And how to calculate FV or TP?
Too long to discuss here. . .
Hi where can we dicuss it can you teach me how? thank you so much! please let me know where.
Pa help naman po pleasee..
If you are really serious about it, I suggest you buy books on investments. You can search online for the recommended books or you can visit your favorite bookstore. Personally, I prefer visiting bookstores over surfing the net. Please do not look at price of the book. Consider the content. also, do not look at it as an expense. It is actually an investment – a very good investment.
You can look at COL’s data at Research >> Fundamentals. It gives the current price, the TP, and the BBP. You can use that as a basic guide.
Alternatively, you can get the TP from there, then set 20% lower than the TP as your BBP.
Im using firstmerto sir Onin.
How long do you intend to hold on these stocks?
depende sa gain.. long term probably.
ask ko lang din what are your insights with EDC and MEG?
Thanks
Personally, I like bigger companies because I am a long-term investor. Thus, I favor FGEN, EDC and MEG over 2GO.
I see,, same here, I prefer long term than flipping, Though i want to try. But still confused of what stock should I buy,
Any suggestions?
thanks. 🙂
The Big 5 stocks above are very good for long term investing. Just use peso-cost averaging. Make life simple.
EVERYDAY I AM A NEWBIE, NOBODY KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW.
* i think there is a timeb… waiting to explode between trading flatform and the organization inside them.. the information they deliver on different levels of membership may affect their business…(just maybe). for now just be watchful as their trend will reverse someday… of course i heard this (phrase) time and time again “wala naman pumilit sayo na sumali” but overtime when they are caught with their greed there will be no exception..
goodluck everyone:)
for everyone who wants some insider tip
Buy Puregold shares ,Ayala shares, First Philippine Holdings and Double Dragon
thank me after holy week

ano po source niyo?
all of my fantastic 5 choices are red… ;(
thoughts about MEG Ms. Fel? thanks
I bought meg at 4.71 then average down to 4.11.
MEG is a giant real estate company. It is ok to hold on for a longer period since we do not think this company will face bankruptcy any time soon. Just hold on for a while and stick to your plan.
Anu po insight nyo about MBT? after 5-10 years?
Is it still good stock for long term investment?
Follow the Fantastic 5 picks, MBTis one of our recommendation under F5.
Hi! just want to ask regarding your insight on the IPO of Wilcon.
Hi, Ms. Fehl,
Question on the 1-Year Return of the Big 5 stock – may I ask what period does this cover? Is it the previous year 2016 or the expected return for the year 2017?
Also, as JFC is showing a negative 1-Year Return, do you recommend us investing (long term) the other three with positive return or this negative does not matter at all for long term investing?
Thank you kindly.
Hi, it’s in the past 12 months. Rewind today to exactly 1 year.
JFC is negative in terms of 1 Yr Ret. that means an opportunity to BUY 🙂 JFC is an excellent company. We listed it among the Big 5 stocks meaning it has huge potential. We believe long term investing of JFC is a must
Sounds good! Thank you for helping me understand this. ☺
hi,
JFC is overalued currently. YOu are right JFC is a good for long term but I dont think it is a good time to buy now.
Fair value is at P144 while current price is at P198
You are in the wrong thread. This page is for Stock Picks. JFC is under the Big 5 and the Big 5 has their own strategy, that is long term. That’s why I said it’s a good time to buy JFC. Your comment must be for the thread for Undervalued Stocks.
Hi Ms. Fehl,

Hi Master FehL!
Ano po insight nyu sa URC. is it time to buy or wait pa na bumaba?
Still one of our Big 5 stocks. Still have the Buy Now recommendation

Hi,
Planning to have long term investment for FPH. Already purchase it at 69.00 and planning on using EIP. Please advise if this is a good investment.
I’ve availed for the BDO rights offer. May I know where I can monitor that? COL already debited my fund but I cant find it in my portfolio. no changes also on the number of shares on my existing BDO stocks. Sorry this is my first time availing of rights offer. Thanks in advance.
You can Call COL Financial help Desk ang alam ko maron silang certain working day para mag reflect sa Portfolio mo. Kasi I also experienced that nung bumili ako ng Stock offer from MBT before
It will be added to your existing shares on January 31, the listing date.
Me too, it’s my first time to avail it, I’m still waiting to reflect on my portfolio but when I’ve read the rights offer mayroon syang nakalagay na Target Listing : January 30, 2017 perhaps that’s the time it will be reflected.
The shares will be listed on or after the Listing Date. Check it by Jan. 31 or after that
Thank you all.
Salamat and more blessings.
It means for every 5.095 common shares, you are entitled to 1 stock right. Example, if you have 50 shares, divide it by 5.095, you can purchase 9 stocks at a discounted price which is 83.75 per share.
Stock rights are only given to all stockholders of record as of January 10, 2017.
hi ms. fehl,
I have already started my investment with COL EIP last December 2016 with 4 of the BIG 5 companies that was mentioned above. I just want to ask since I will do the investment for long term, do I still need to join Truly Rich Club by Mr. Bo Sanchez. As my plan is to invest in stocks for 5 – 10 years or more than that.
Any advice from you.
Thank you.
Kaleah
Hi. TRC is different with the stocks here so it’s up to you if you want to join them.
I am a member of TRC. In my opinion, the Fantastic 5 strategy is similar to the TRC strategy (position trading). Also, if you are a COL subscriber, you are lilkely to have access to the COLing the shots reports. These are really good reports with stock recommendations. I don’t think paying 500 monthly for the TRC membership is worth it.
Hi. If you are investing, you can check out our Magic 10 stocks and Blue Chip stocks everyday for free. COL sends stocks recommendations as well occasionally via Investment Guide and COLing the Shots
Maam Fehl, gud day! ask ko lang kung paano mag invest sa ALI & BPI? meron akong S.A sa BPI, pero andito ako sa abroad, How can I make it? I want to start investing sana. Thanks for ur reply.
Do you mean invest ALI and BPI stocks? The first thing you need is an online broker. Then once you have active online account, you can then buy any share you want to invest. You can check out the Stock Market Guides on the menu above for your guidance. It’s free!
Hi Ms. Fehl is it ok to mix some undervalued stocks with some big 5 and some f5 thanks a lot for giving free advice to newbees like us
Hi Sir Ed,
You can do that. It all boils down to your strategy. Just make sure to stick to your strategy. Do not be carried away by your emotions. Also remember, patience is a very important virtue in investing in stocks.
Hi. Always know your priority and I recommend you prioritize your chosen stocks from B5s and mix them with any or some from F5. Then if you have excess money, choose a blue chip with a BUY action from the list of Undervalued
Back in the green after a tumultuous 2nd half of 2016! (Although half of my stocks are still in the red. SM is my one bright light). Here’s hoping for an awesome 2017!
Hi Ms. Fehl,
Ask ko lang sa Big 5, say BDO. If higher than BBP ang price/sh n’ya, ok lang ba na mag-buy pa rin ng stocks?
Thank you.
Rei
With Big 5, there is no BBP being followed because we use PCA method. We buy those stocks every month or every period (we prefer) as long as it’s regularly regardless of the price of the stocks. Big 5 stocks are blue chip stocks from giant companies, already established. We have chosen those 5 companies because they have strong balance sheet, great performance and high potential for long term
to make life easy for me, every month or quarterly i would buy big 5 stocks (regularly) and use the pca method. I dont know the pca method is it a method i should know, I buy the big stocks and just leave em alone for the next 10 years.
Hello again, with fantastic 5 I buy and then sell at target price. with these stock i have to check every day. Prices can change or changes during the day right. I think i can manage 5 f5 stocks. But I am also a busy senior citizen. I just opened a small small that keeps me busy.
in my second reply i meant a small BUSINESS.
So, magic 10 are the stocks of big 5 and fantastic 5.
Hello, Lets say i have 30k can i buy all ten stocks (b5 and f5) investing 3k per stock. and do this every month or every 3 months(90k).
Hai Sir Rudy… Welcome to stock market, and have a happy retirement sir..
Buy this MBT until @ BBP of 94
Buy this MEG until @ BBP of 4.79
Buy this Fgen until @ BBP of 28
Buy ALI in regular interval by PCA…
Regular interval by PCA???
Hi Ms Fehl
First of all Happy New Year!!
Hi guys, anybody has anything to say abot JFC? It went down so much I’m at a 20% loss already. Currently for LT but would appreciate any advise. Thank you
Please help. Thank you maam. & Merry Christmas!
Thank you.
Bakit po halos negative na lahat sa F5?
I mean Big 5. Ambilis pating bumagsak ng BDO.
Usually stocks go down before and after Holidays
Hi Ms Fehl,
Good day po Ms Fehl.
Salamat po and God bless.
Hi. Just waiting for more data to adjust the values on our picks. By the weekend, the picks will be all adjusted. Cheers!
Hello fellow stocks investors,
The value of of TEL is going dow and i am at 20% loss. Any feedback if its going back to its >2000 value.
Or should i sell now to cut loss?
i got 37% loss on my PLDT but i’m not really hurried to cut loss.
when the guidance for profits were changed this year, the target for comeback of pldt was 3 years.
in the near term, i wouldn’t expect pldt to do well. but it should get better in 3 years.
so if you are looking for short term, i suggest you sell once it bounces back a little. but if not, just hold it out. it’ll get better. there are only 2 telco right now. even if a third one comes, i dont think tel will go down the drain even in 10 years time.
His Ms Fehl,
Hi, Maria. Ano ba ang type of UITF mo? Regular UITF ba o EIP?
HI good day,
Thanks
Hello!
I’m fairly new to stock investing (Started July 2015) 5/8 stocks I’ve invested in are blue chip, however I made the wrong move of buying above BBP of some of the stocks. The rest are for flipping. And now, all I see are RED! >.<
My port loss is now almost 10%. The stocks I have the largest loss percentage are mostly sa blue chips kasi nga I made the wrong move earlier. I know hindi ako dapat magpapadala sa emotions but this is my first time having this amount of loss. I'm just a little worried if my port will recover or not. I know we all have to be patient, I'm just too praning to look on the bright side hahah. All I can do now is average down.
Any wise words for a newbie like me?
On the long term, makakabawi rin ang mga namulang stocks.
Don’t worry those blue chips target time is around 5 or more years, Wag ka lang muna madala sa emosyon. As long as maganda napili mo at maayos yung P/E at P/BV ratio ng company you have nothing to worry about.
tama yan…habang negative pa portfolio mu e magipon ipon kana ng pang average mu…stock market nman talaga ang nag pupush saten para magsave ng pera…parang ako…last week,,14k negative sa port ko,,ngayon 6k nalang…kc nag aaverage ako at marunong akong mag hintay..
Mbt, urc, jfc, fgen, ali, ceb, bdo. Halos lahat bumagsak na. Thoughts on which of them should I prioritize buying. Btw, I am using Ms.Fehls strategy. Thanks in advance!????
Valuation wise, if I were to chose, I’ll choose MBT, URC and ALI considering the previous highs of these 3 stocks. =)
Hello,
Kung gagamit ako ng SAM para sa BIG 5, ano po ang BBP for each stocks?
Hi Niel,
If you are to use SAM, you cannot find BBP of big 5 stocks here. If you are a COL account holder, you may use their coling the hots report. The problem with the coling the shots report is that it does not give sell signal. Also, it is not updated daily. You have to make some decisions yourself.
Investment guide will give you a BBP and a target price. Than means you can buy the stock if it is below the BBP and you can sell it when it reaches the TP which is usually the Fair Value of the stock. You can use it if you are following SAM strategy or if you are an investor type.
On the other hand, the technical guide will tell you whether a stock is currently in uptrend, downtrend or sideways. You may use it if you are trading, but you can’t just rely on this as this is also not updated in a daily basis. You have to study technical analysis if you want to trade.
How do you know if stock is currently cheaper than its fair value?
I personally use P/E ratio. I got it from Warren Buffett.
You can also use Price to Book Value.
Hi, yes the Big 5 are enough if you are into long term. Just stick to your plan and strategy using PCA method, be patient and your portfolio will grow more money in the long run.
Okay po. Thank you! 🙂
It’s not performing well compared from the previous years. It’s an advantage to buy if you’re into PCA method
Any opinion on Shell IPO? Is it too risky?
ang mahal. 67 per share. ung petron 10 lang
Hi Ms. Fehl,
Im newbie in this investment. Actually i opened my COL account last May of this year and until now i’m still learning and thankful for your blog,i learned a lot because it is very informative. i have question Maam Fehl.
If I would like to buy stock listed in Fantastic 5 and wait for the price reached it to the Target Price before selling it. Is it necessary to buy that Stocks using EIP or buy directly for that particular stocks and fund it monthly if the price still below buy below price?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
God Bless and Best Regard
Hi RjXhan,
Congratulations for taking courage to invest in the stock market. Using COL EIP can help because it reminds you of your scheduled investment. However, COL EIP is not required in our strategy ass long as you have the discipline to follow our strategy.
I would like to add that in our strategy, We keep on funding our portfolio even the stock we have chosen in the F5 reached its BBP. The additional cash in your portfolio can be used to buy other stocks in the F5 which are still priced below their BBP. You can also buy stocks in the B5 and hold them in the long term.
Putting money in your portfolio regularly is significant in using our strategy.
Hi Sir Jem,
Thank you for your reply, it gives me more confident on investing in stock market. However, I have one concern Sir Jem that needs your expert advise, Is it advisable now to buy MPI stock for long term investment using PCA strategy?i have hesitation to buy MPI now since the current price are already above the BBP and almost hit the Target Price.. Any advice Sir what to do or shall i find another stock rather than MPI which the price still below BBP?
Thank you and May God reward you abundantly for helping others to be financially literate like me.
Hi RjXhan,
Sorry for the late reply. When using PCA, we do not consider BBP. The F5 stocks above have BBP because we use SAM here. MPI is a good company and investing in MPI using buy and hold or PCA strategy is good. But if you are going to use SAM, you better choose other stocks when MPI is trading above BBP. You may choose any F5 stocks above.
Note: I assumed you already know the difference between PCA and SAM. If you need further explanation, please let me know by replying to this comment and I’ll be happy to respond.
Hi Sir Jim,
Thank you very much for sharing us your knowledge regarding stock market and it helps me a lot and even now im still in a process of learning.it really a big help for me..By the way Sir,yes i already have an idea between PCA and SAM..and for now i follow SAM strategy using those F5 recommended stock, as well as MF from SunLife for my long term investment..I wud say that im already confident on my investment by following this blog and hoping that im on a right track now.
Thank you and May God Bless you with abundant blessings..
Ang baba po ng stocks. Do you think bababa pa or makakarecover din?
If you’re using the Peso Cost Average strategy, kahit bumaba pa man yan, okay lang kasi pang long term naman ung strat na to, eventually magrerecover ulit yan 🙂
Hi Eugene,
What strategy are you using? Peso Cost Averaging (PCA)? Buy and Hold? Strategic Averaging Method (SAM)? I hope you’re using one of those strategies because we are investors here and not traders.
If you are using either PCA or SAM, you must be happy because you can buy more shares at cheaper prices. If you are using buy and hold strategy, there’s nothing to worry about because you intend to intend to hold your stocks for very long time anyway. I suggest that those who are using buy and hold strategy stop looking at your portfolio frequently.
The important thing is to stick to your plan. Keep your emotions in control to avoid mistakes in making investment decisions.
Hi Jem,
I use SAM. Thanks for the advice, it really gets into my head when I see those red figures.
Anyway, I’m just pissed that a day after I bought some stocks, then the next day those prices dropped big time, hence my comment above. I should have waited for another day. lol
What is your opinion on Shakey’s IPO?
Any opinion on FGEN?
mag bigay sila ng divided .35 per share
Hi Can. If you are buying shares from FGEN now? I think bears are still in control (downtrend), wait till close of the market this week if signal shows the “morning star”, likely we will see a bottom reversal bullish pattern. Have a look after you log in to your COL account (Check on your Chart 1 Year/Week view. I’m not a professional trader it’s just an opinion based on my technical analysis. Good luck.
No worries, I’m investing on FGEN via PCA. I’m still kind of new as to how to determine the start and end of a bull or bear market. I just asked since I plan to sell it once it goes near the target price. I still don’t want to invest at JFC (my target blue chip) since in my opinion as of this time the price is overvalued. I only invest in stocks with basic numerations from warren buffet lessons like P/E ratio and P/BV for example. Thanks for the great opinion 🙂
Hi Ma’am Fehl, anu pong masasabi niyo sa CEB ngayon? may nabasa po kasi ako na “HOLD” muna ang CEB since OPEC has moved towards controlling oil production, and this may increase oil prices, which may affect CEB’s profits in the next quarter.
Hi Fehl. Can i ask you something? I have been thinking of trying my hand in forex trading. Any thoughts on it? I mean i have read about scams in forex. Do you know of a good, legit trading platform for forex? Thanks much!
FXCM for US…or try sa UK base na brokers…..fxcm lang ako.
Hi Irene. I do forex trading. I’m using http://www.Plus500.com and http://www.Markets.com also http://www.Avatrade.com they have all updated trading platform, you may see all legit brokers here: http://www.forexfraud.com/forex-broker-reviews.html
However, if you are beginner just deposit a minimum fund due to the high risk involve in trading. Profit is good because of High Leverage but It can also put your funds into a big loss if trend is not in favor of you.
Piece of advice. Try their demo first (using virtual money) until you get used to it then try the real one.
Happy trading.
Hi JP,
I’m just interested lang po to know some inputs from you related to Markets.com, Wala po bang problema in terms sa withdrawal requests once you will have good trade and profit?
Hi Malot!
Don’t worry about that.=)
Once you withdraw a certain amount from your Trading Account, It would take usually 3-5 working days to process and transfer to your Bank Account.
As i remember nung nagwithdaw ako 3 working days bago natransfer sa Bank Account ko.
Regards,
Hi Fehl. This is a one great blog. Exactly what I’m looking for as I am a newbie in stocks and would like to have it long term. Fantastic 5 and Big 5 are awesome. thank you for providing that list. more power!
CEB is going down each day. Should I be worried or should I buy more?
Huhuhu,,, what happened to MEG?
it’s been a more than a year since i’ve read your blog on how to invest in stock market. i would like to thank you for sharing this information.
i can say that i am already beating the inflation and i am not pressured to earn more in working
you encourage me not to be scared of the risk of stock market
Thank you Donnel. Happy to spread positive insights and encourage fellow Filipinos to learn investing 🙂
Ms. Fehl, araw araw ako naga-monitor sa site mo for stocks updates. Thanks a lot. God bless.
hi, how to upgrade from COL starter to COL plus?
Once mag 25k or more ang pera or equity value mo. may mag appear na button sa home page ng COL acct mo na pwede ka na mag upgrade to COL PLUS. click mo lang
You must have at least P25,000 worth of funds in your account. Either by funding money via colfinancial or gaining it via wins in your portfolio.
What does invest slowly means? I just started investing.

Hi Ms. Fehl,
I Would just like to ask, ano po ang mas advisable after mo mag sell ng stock na umabot na sa TP? Would it be better to buy Big 5 stocks sa pinagbentahan mo ng Fantastic 5 or Undervalued stock, or mas okay na ibili mo ulit ng ibang stock sa Fantastic 5 or Undervalued stock yung pinagbentahan mo?
Thank you very much and keep educating us.
Hello Jet,
You can do either. No one knows which strategy will do better. It will depend on which stock on the big 5 or fantastic 5 you will buy, for how long you will hold your stocks and how the stock picks above will perform in the future. Since you have more cash after selling your stocks at the target price, my recommendation is to buy both stocks from big 5 and fantastic 5. If you buy big 5 stocks, always keep in mind that we intend to hold them for at least 10 years. On the other hand, we intend to sell fantastic 5 stocks when they hit their target price.
If you buy both F5 and B5 stocks, your portfolio will be more diversified than if you buy just F5/B5 stocks. Also, if you buy both stocks, and use both strategies, you will learn more and faster. Along the way, with your new knowledge and experience, you can modify your portfolio to perfectly fit your objectives and personal situation.
God belss your investment journey!
God bless your investment journey!
(Sorry I misspelled the word bless on my previous comment hehe)
Hi, tanong ko lang po ung tungkol sa fee for buying and selling. Ang nakalagay kasi sa COL FAQs na formula ng “Commission” is 0.25% ng Gross trade amount then ung VAT is 12% of commission. How come po na ang COMM+VAT ko is fixed sa 22.40 sa lahat ng trades ko? Pls answer po, thank you.
Dito lang ho nagkakatalo yan:
Stockbroker’s commission = 0.25% of the GTA or 20 Php, whichever is higher
Commission- minimum of P20.00 per transaction or 0.25% whichever is higher
VAT- 12% of commission
I see. thank you Mark and Ericson.
Hi Ms. Fehl,
This is a very helpful information to me especially I’m a beginner in the stock market. I’ve just opened my col financial accnt this august 18, 2016. I don’t know which stocks is best to buy until I found this great post of you and now I have a guide on which stocks to buy and its target price to sell. Hope this post would last for long. Thank you and God bless!!
Good day!
I came across your website and I really appreciate the information given here. I think it is easy to understand and helpful to beginners like me in this business.
As I completely understand the difference between the Big5 and Fantastic5, I am more interested in Big5 companies. If it does not defeat the purpose, will it be possible that you include Target Price in the table?
Thank you and I am hoping for your response.
I suggest you check the Undervalued stocks or Best Blue Chip Stocks under Stock Picks, nandun din ung mga companies sa big 5. And usually before I buy sa BIG 5 I check kung within the Buy Below Price pa ung company na gusto mo.
Miss Jem Liboon,
Hi Ragna,
First of all, it’s Mr. not Ms. hahahaha. Anyway, If you can divide your monthly investment, please do so you can invest in both Big 5 and Fantastic 5 stocks simultaneously. This way, your learning will be much faster. You will notice the difference of their stock movements in time. However, for newbies who cannot divide their investments because they invest just a little amount, my recommendation is to invest first in the Big 5 rather than the Fantastic 5. Big 5 stocks are very solid. In my experience, in times the PSEi was down, while other stocks were down by 20% – 30%, solid companies like the Big 5 were just down 10% – 15% and they recovered much faster than others! But always remember that whether you invest in the Big 5 or Fantastic 5, patience is a very very very important virtue.
Sori Sir. Tenx po sa comment nyo.
Hi newbie here! First of all I would like to thank Ms. Fehl for this very informative post! Really a big help specially for newbies like me. I just want lng po some clarifications regarding sa term when buying stocks, can U explain further po ung day order, GTC and ATC.. ndi ko po kasi clear sakin kung paano po cla gamitin. And do u advice po for newbie ung mga nsa magic 10 stock picks? Thanks in advance po!
Hi Angel,
First, I would like to say that I totally agree that this blog is amazing. This is very informative and of big help to newbies.
Day order, means your order is good for the trading day. If your order was not done, it expires at the close of the trading day. GTC means Good Til Cancelled. If your order is not done within the trading day, it’s still good unless you cancel your order. In case your order is neither done nor cancelled, it will expire after 60 days. ATC or at the close, is an off-hour order. It is done by those who cannot order within the trading hours. Your order must match the price of the stock at the close of the trading day. That is the drawback of off-hour orders. Another off-hour order is ATO or at the open. This is similar to ATC but you are dealing at the opening price of the stock.
As to how to use magic 10, please read the article “How to use Magic 10 Method Investing in Stocks”. The article can be found in this blog.
Thank you po for clarification. Now I understand much better. Hoping to learn more in this blog and really thankful to the members and readers of this blog who are willing to answer questions specially of the newbies! Cheers! Happy investing everyone!
Hi, I want to start investing sa stock market. i was browsing and came to COl financial, 5000 investment, please advise which stocks to buy first?
Hi Cherie,
You may or may not spend your 5,000.00 in one day. Technically speaking, that is not required. As to add monthly, semi-monthly, quarterly, etc., it is up to you. Again, there’s no requirements as to when and how much you are going to invest. It is a matter of personal choice. It depends on how much you can conveniently afford to invest. I suggest that you invest according to your objectives.
“pwede ko na ba ibenta mga nabili o na stocks if ever tumaas presyo?”
Yes you can. It depends on your objective. Traders buy stocks today and sell tomorrow or maybe after a few days when they cut their losses or want to pocket their gains.
Personally, I am a medium to long-term investor. I bought JFC, TEL, BDO, and URC stocks and I plan to hold them for more than 10 years. I also bought CEB, EW and MBT and I am just waiting for their target price to get hit and I will sell them.
Since you are new to investing, I recommend that you read the article “How to use Magic 10 Method Investing in Stocks”. The article can be found in this blog.
I wish you luck in your investment journey!!
Well its up to you if u wanna invest it in just one day. You don’t have to wait for a month to fund your COL account, You can transfer funds from your registered bank account to your COL account anytime you want. You may sell your stocks once price is high (depending on your target price).
Cherie,
Hello Cherie,
P5,000 is the initial deposit and YES you can buy shares with that amount.
What to buy first?? just refer to Ms. Fehl’s Fantastic 5, and chose which Stocks you want to buy. Its up to you if you want to consume your money in 1 particular stocks BUT, WAIT! I said, WAIT!! until the price reach the TARGET PRICE before you SELL.
Keep on buying shares as long us its in its Buy Below Price. Just refer to Fastastic 5 List above.
Happy Investing
Hi Ms Fehl,
Need your assistance po.
Hi Josephine,
It depends on your plan. You may sell your MBT stocks when the target price is reached and you may also hold on to your stocks. MBT is a good company for long term investing. The important thing is that you have a definite plan and you execute it accordingly.
Yes, if you buy monthly the cost will change because your purchase price will be averaged and the transaction costs will be added.
Hi everyone! I’m a newbie po, I have question about SM’s stock split.
Eto po yung details. I have 50 shares po bago magstock split, Ave price nya po ata ay 980. Then i bought another 40 shares at 700. Today, I got the 25 shares from stock split. Do I have to sell all and buy again para umayos ung portfolio ko kasi value wise there is no loss. Thanks 🙂
Mrkt Price Ave. Price Share Mrket Value Gain/Loss Gain/Loss
691.0000 852.0617 115 115 78,833.25 -19,153.84 -19.55%
Hi everyone, nagcorrect na po siya today. THanks
tama kaya decision ko? nag all in ako sa URC, binili ko 2580 stocks.
Walang masama boss, ngayon pang may report about acquiring new company.
Pero gaya ng sabi nila – “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket”.
Why is it that MEG shares has downward trend po? It is really advisable to buy it?
if the price is going down the more stocks you should buy. We are encouraged to be passive investors here and the Magic 10 suggest that as long as the current price of the stock is still the buy-below price, you should buy it. Nobody can really tell if it will go up or down, but your focus should be the target price of the stock. The stock picks given here aims to make stock investment simple, so just follow the table provided.
I would like to be notified of your new posts by email.
Thank you.
Hi Ms. Fehl, I badly need your personal take on my issue. I’m already 30 years old, a home-based tech support sa isang UK-based company, getting at least 30k a month. I don’t pay for taxes, nor contribute sa SSS, Philhealth at other gov agencies. More than a year ko na tong ginagawa at until now, wala pa din kaming savings. I don’t know how, but I’d like to start investing sa stock market. I’d been reading your posts lately, and following your updates dito sa Magic 10 kahit di pa ko nagstart. Maybe what I’m trying to say is, ano kaya ang pwede kong gawin para makapagstart na kong makapag-invest? Salamat in advance. 🙂
Dear RJ,
Before anything else, let me advice you that investing comes easy if you know how to save.
Me myself, I am following the 10/20/70 principle with my finances. To explain with, after receiving your paycheck, set aside 10% for your Tithes first, I mean FIRST. The firstfruit of our labor should be for GOD. Then set aside 20% for your savings and the remaining 70% will be for all of your expenses, bills, etc….You need to do this religiously and later you will see that your savings grow, then you can now invest and in your case in the Stock Market.
In the Stock Market, you need to have a Broker like the COL FINANCIAL where in you need to fill up the downloadable form and send the original to them. You need to have an account with BDO or BPI to do the banking transactions and once its approved, COL will give you your username and password and wallah!!! you have now access to the stock market.
Happy investing!!
Hi RJ,
Like you I got a part time online job, freelance programmer and I also have regular day job (kailangan ko para nd ma-tengga). I started investing sa stock market via COL Financial. You can visit their website and nung time na nagstart ako kinakabahan din ako. Pero I’ve been watching videos of Pesos and Sense, reading DailyPik’s suggestions and yun medyo naging confident na mag-invest.
Start ka by creating a new account sa kanila, may form don.
Sir Rj,
I suggest, mag establish ka muna ng emergency fund mo. Save, save, save.
Then, iset mo na objectives mo..
Salamat much Ms. Fehl! God bless
God bless
Hi Ms. Fehl, or to anyone who knows the answer. I want to ask why do someone post buy/sell which is too high/low from the market price during opening and run-off period? Thanks in advance ! 😀
Hi Eugene,
I do it sometimes. I place GTC (Good Until Cancelled) orders even the stock price is still far from my target price. It is practical especially for those who have a full-time job.
Hi Jem, thanks for the answer. But the order won’t get executed right? Does it affect the market?
Hi Jem. I get it now, sorry to bother you 😀
Hi Ms. Fehl,
Is there any trending for the period the stock will reach each Target Price?
Thanks
Hi Angel,
There are two schools of thoughts in the stock market: the fundamental and the technical. Fundamental analysis considers financial performance of the company and other economic factors to compute for the fair value of the stock. Technical analysis, on the other hand, uses charts and patterns to predict the movement of the price of a stock. I think you are referring to technical side when you ask for the trend.
Do not be confused with one to the other. Fundamental analysis is for long term investors while technical analysis is for the short term traders.
Hi Jem,
Regarding COL’s investment and technical guide, does it mean investment guide is for long term and technical guide is for short term?
Thanks.
Hi Marc,
Yes you got it right. That’s their respective intentions.
HI Jem,
Thanks Jem. I think im referring to fundamentals. I just wondering for the undervalued stock how long it takes to reach its real market value
Hi Angel,
There’s no definite time frame. Sometimes it takes months, sometimes more than a year. I had a stock which I sold in just a matter of two weeks after it reached my target price. I also had a stock which did not reach my target price and besides I was forced to sell at a loss. I highly suggest that you invest only the amount of money that you will not be needing soon.
There are a lot of factors to consider. There are times that the market moves sideways, upward or downward. The Philippine economic condition plays a very vital role in the market movement.
Generally, the bigger companies move faster than the smaller ones because if foreign investors are coming in the country, the bigger companies are the first picks. But to tell EXACTLY which stock will go up and and reach its FV the soonest and how long it will take before reaching its FV is beyond us.
Hi, Newbie here.,Is there a way that I can buy stocks or even order even if the market is close?? I go to work at 9 am and go home at 6 pm so apparently di ko naabutan ang opening and even the closing of the stock market., what can i do?
You can place an order during off hours by simply clicking the Off-Hour Order Icon. You can also monitor it by clicking the Off -Hour Review/Cancel Icon.
How about MPI? can I Peso cost ave in MPI starting August 2016 to August 2017, 5thou monthly?
Yes you can. You can do it to any stock of your choice with few exceptions like TEL and GLO because their prices are higher. If you believe that the stock will do good, why not? The only problem I see is the investment period. 1 yr is a very short period to invest in the market. What if the market is down on August 2017? Are you going to sell at a loss? What if it takes another year before the market, or MPI in particular, to recover? Can you wait?
HELLO C. 1 year is such a very short period to try peso cost averaging! Your time horizon for peso cost ave must be about 5 yrs to 10 yrs or even more!
That way you can ride the “ups and downs” of the market.. and the next “ups” which hopefully will be most highest than the previous.. That’s the wisdom of Peso Cost; to accumulate large number of stocks.. even if the market is down, it means you can buy more.. if the market is high/expensive, your market value is high and % of gain higher
Hi.
Anyone knows if FGEN’s supposed to pay out cash dividends last july 25?
Yes for preferred stocks.
Hi gelo.
preferred stocks meaning?
Hi Geli,
A stock may be preferred or common. Make sure you know what stock you are buying. A common stockholder is not necessarily a preferred stockholder.
Ah OK.. Thanks a lot.. I might buy as I find SM affordable this time.
angel,
What can you say about RFM? Not good for long term investment?
Hello, Ano pong nangyari sa SM?. bat bumagsak price from 900+ to 600+?
Hi. This is because of the 50% stock dividend ex-date. This was a price adjustment. Nothing to worry about.
Hi po. Is this the right time to buy SM? What is the target BBP?
Hi Mss Fehl, I buy share from SM on July 28, How i know na ksali aq sa mbibigyan ng dividend ng SM, pwed ko nb isell khit sa aug 18 p payable date nya.
Thanks
Hi Ms Fehl,
May we know latest report for SM? Why it went down bigtime? Is it good to buy SM now?
The stock price of SM was adjusted due to the declared 50% stock dividend with ex-dividend date July 29, 2016
Adjustment of Share Price/Stock Dividend: Effective today, the stock price of SM Investments Corporation will reflect the 50% stock dividend approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission and with the record date of August 3, 2016. The closing price of PHP1,025 per share as at July 28, 2016 was adjusted accordingly as a result of this..
HI RodP,
How come parang di nangyari yung pagbaba ng price in CNPF. They also declared 50% dividend
Hi po,

You can check the site na lang po. Listed naman. 😀
good day po sa lahat! im a newbie here. gusto ko lang sana malamana ang opinion ninyo about Big 5. sa aling company po kaya mabuting mag invest na pang long term? salamat po sa mag cocomment. God bless!
if i were you, all stocks in big 5 are recommendable, with high financial stability…goodluck
pik ka jan sa mga yan ng good stock…pag na buy mu sa fair value, much better…kung hindi man…mag SAM peso cost averaging ka…para lalong bumaba average mu…mas lalong lalaki ang profits mu in the future…
Thank you Ms. Fehl for this article. It helped me a lot in studying Stock Market. Fantastic 5 and Big 5 really works in buying and selling of stocks. Keep it up because you are helping us a lot to be more equipped. God bless you and your team.
Thanks I have found this site. I’m about to open account in BPI trade maybe this month.
That’s cool. Happy investing!
Hi ms fhel good day! Thanks in advance
Nakastate po Target Price. Wait na lang po na mareach. 🙂
“Always remember our PLAN: invest slowly and don’t stop until we reached our TARGET PRICE. If we reached out target, we then SELL these stocks.”
Sana nakatulong.
Pero po, dba if ever we reach the target price, pwede naman pong di muna ibenta? For long term investment po. Tama po ba? 🙂
Hi Ms Fehl, ask ko lng po bout sa SM, kung bibili aq ngaun then mabibigyan din ba aq ng 50% div of Stocks?
ask lng po next month kaya may chance pa kaya bumaba ang mga stock especially the big 5? may ghost month pa po ba? or sale month to buy stocks? thanks
No one or nothing can predict the movement of the stock market. I think ghost month is per person’s own belief or preference
Hi Ms. Fehl,
investment guide recomend thru fundamental review of the company, while technical analysis recommendation thru prices movement of the staocks or trend
Ms. Fehl, you truly are a blessing! Thank you so much for bringing up this site. It’s very helpful especially to a newbie like me.
On average, how long are the Fantastic 5 stocks held before they reach target price?
Thank you for this blog!! More power, Ms. Fehl 🙂
Thank you Ms. Fehl.. Your Stock picks “Rock”
hi, bakit po BUY pa din si EW?
EW 21.10 20.80 26 23.22% Buy
bbp nya is 20.8, should we stop buying it for now?
thanks,
Hi, please check out the values of the stocks. We made major adjustments after good performance of PSEI in the last few weeks.
So may bago po bang BBP and TP ang EW Ms. Fehl? As of writing kasi mas mataas na ang BBP kaysa sa price pero Buy pa din ang recommended action.
Thanks
Hi po,
Buti nlng di ako ng sell ng Mbt… Thank you miss fehl, Godbless us!
